Do you have people in your life who constantly toss you off? Regardless of how happy you are, or despite how content you feel, the moment you hang out with these people, your state of mind simply drops like a rock. Welcome to the club. We all need to learn how to handle the poisonous individuals in life eventually.
If you have any pals or family, and this means that you're part of 99.9% of the human population, there will constantly be a poisonous person. There's at least one.
Regardless of how well whatever is going in their lives, they constantly manage to snatch defeat from the jaws of triumph. That's simply the method they are.
It's seems that whatever they touch somehow turns sour. No matter how intense, no matter how hopeful, no matter how optimistic, they constantly make things negative. It's constantly the worst case scenario.
The problem with poisonous individuals is not a problem at all. They are who they are. They made their beds, and you must allow them to sleep in them. We are all entitled to live the lives that we have actually chosen.
However the issue is, when you define them as hazardous individuals, you trigger a chain response in your mind that ensures that their toxicity leaks into your mind. Unfavorable as they are, and no matter how much distance you would like, a few of it permeates in.
Why? Well, because of your choices. Unfavorable individuals are only negative due to the fact that you made them negative.
I know that sounds crazy due to the fact that you probably have a pal or an associate or a relative that you understand full well is a social cancer. This person is just the worst of the worst. But think me, your power of meaning is more effective than you offer it credit.
And a lot of the times, you are reading this negativity into that person. And worst yet, you are enabling it to toxin you too. Think me, there is no individual worldwide that is 100% unfavorable. It all boils down to perspective.
I don't wish to get all postmodern on you and I certainly do not desire this to be misunderstood or misconstrued as some sort of postmodern amoral philosophical conversation. It isn't. What I'm simply stating is that there are constantly 2 sides to a story.
And it might well turn out that the reason that these "hazardous" people around you are slowly killing you is because you allow them to. You define things in such a method that they are poisonous.
This is where it gets uneasy. Due to the fact that if you were to alter your choices, if you were to change your attitude and viewpoint, things will enhance.
However let's get real here. This takes work. It also takes maturity, and a single person has to be the grownup. Who wishes to be that, right?
Part of what makes "cleansing" our relationships such a concern and such an inconvenience is because of the fact that we feel we can't do it. We feel that it's excessive work. We feel that there is simply too much at risk. In other words, we're making a thousand and one reasons why we do not wish to do it.
Well, if you're ill and sick of making reasons, time to find your zen. The basic meditation practice, which takes less than 15 minutes each and every single day, can enable you to get the mental and willpower resources you require to detoxify anybody you stumble upon.
Eventually, the social cancer that you feel negatively effects you is a choice. It is a definition. And for it to have any power, you need to buy into the meaning. Learning how to deal with poisonous people in life is a present that will give you back time, energy and comfort. You deserve it!

I am a bit consumed with my animals. And I make sure if you had a canine and a bunny, you 'd be obsessed with them too. Abby (dog) and Niblet (bunny) are well-behaved, really social and have a lot of character. Abby is extremely popular in the neighborhood and the other pets consider her a star. Lots of animal moms and dads (or any parent) dislike leaving their children when it is time to go to work and I was among them. Many early mornings mindfulness I would think, I simply want to be a stay at house pet moms and dad.
I've been lucky to deal with a lot of terrific people, but cubicle life didn't appear to fit me anymore. I felt the work I was doing could be done from a house. I would take a vacation and feel revitalized for a couple of days and then burnout would come back. In the back of my mind I constantly thought how good it would be to be my own employer. Being able to sometimes come house for lunch and walk my canine kept me going on bad days.
It ended up being harder and harder to return to the office.
Abby did a terrific task of making me feel guilty whenever I would leave, whether it was in the morning or during a lunch check out. I understood one day I would find the right circumstance to make a modification, I simply didn't realize how soon. The corporate mindset of being a number on a spreadsheet and a body to fill a task was getting old. Doing the work of 3 individuals was enough to make me turn in my resignation.
When that letter was sent, I felt totally elated. I began counting down the days till I was free. Every morning I thought, I won't have to leave home to go to work every morning extremely soon. Just 5 more days, 4 more days, 3 more days, and so on
. Throughout my recently, I began to put my workplace together. Among the most crucial pieces was a pet bed. The only challenge I'm finding right now is that Abby wishes to rest on my lap as I'm working. I allow it sometimes, how could I not.
It was a tough transition to make, however I have definitely no remorses. The joy and liberty I feel outweighs any worry and operating in my office where my furry children run around is my type of job!
